Mortal Immortality

Our souls once crossed, our spirits one,
a distant past that haunts;
emotions, memories – lie undone –
from worlds which lay beyond.

Antiquity belies desire,
we reach and hope in fear –
as love succumbs to sorrow’s ire
we share in Luna’s tears…

Elation felt in smiles, it binds,
as hearts confuse what’s real.
We seek that which we cannot find
yet aches to be revealed.

Within my dreams I’ve held you close,
and kissed your fears away.
We’ve cried, it seems, for long-dead ghosts,
I’ve yearned for you to stay.

Our story written since that dawn,
before the fey were birthed,
when heaven sung immortal songs
from which our souls were cursed.

And so it seems that time and chance
would fall upon the sword,
where we would find forever’s dance,
amidst the Lover’s Chord.

It’s there I’ll find her lovely breast,
that first gave life to me,
where hearts await our passions’ rest,
across the weeping seas.

Our souls once crossed, our spirits one,
a distant past that haunts;
emotions, memories – lie undone –
from worlds which lay beyond.
